Samantha Werts is currently a PhD student in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona. She completed a Master of Public Health degree in May of 2020 at the University of Arizona concentrating on health behavior and health promotion and is now a scholar with the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network. She is interested in developing and implementing lifestyle interventions to improve health outcomes for cancer survivors. Samantha has been and is currently involved in a wide breadth of research within the area of cancer prevention and control, including work in ovarian cancer screening and lifestyle interventions for cancer survivors. With RENEW, Samantha is a research assistant on Project ATHENA. After receiving her doctorate degree, she hopes to design and implement lifestyle interventions for underserved cancer survivor populations.
