Adela Diaz

Adela is an Intern working on the ORCHID study. Adela is a rising senior studying Public Health with an emphasis in Health Systems Theory and Practice. She has a double minor in Spanish and Physiology & Medical Sciences. At U of A, Adela is volunteer a with the public health organization Nosotros Comprometidos Por La Salud, a Certified Assister with Project SHARE under the Arizona Center for Rural Health, and a research assistant with a lab on campus studying the role of genetics in HIV transmission. Adela was an intern at the El Rio Community Health Center Midwifery, and is active in the honors college and a club on campus called Camp Wildcat, where they take children from Title One schools on weekend long, cost free camping trips. 

Adela is extremely passionate about eliminating health disparities, particularly within the realm of reproductive health. In her free time, she likes to exercise, cook, go to coffee shops, and take care of her house plants.
